About A Family Story

-- “Prone to Love has changed my heart and my life forever. It's wrecked me at every page. My mind is blown. I'm completely changed in my thinking about God, who He is, and His thoughts towards myself and others.” -- Darlene

In 2014 Karen and I stepped away from a full time pastor position. We had a handful of opportunities in similar pastor roles but felt our Father inviting us to dream with Him into an itinerate teaching ministry. We had plenty of questions but were confident in the message and ministry name.

Bill Johnson once said, “If it isn’t family it isn’t Kingdom,” and that resonated deeply with us. Jesus showed us what Kingdom and family looked like by revealing our Father’s love and living sure in His affection. He called it on earth as it is in heaven.

We launched A Family Story around our life's message - God is love, His love is always good, and we exist to grow sure!

We are all living A Family Story. We are all designed to grow sure as sons and daughters transformed by our Father's always good love. We are all invited to grow sure as fathers and mothers, becoming living expressions of His kingdom come.

This is the gospel of Jesus and it changes the world!

In the years that have followed, our time has been given primarily to revealing the goodness of our Fathers love through speaking, writing, music and film. And we are seeing the impact of this life-transforming message.

-- “God used it (The Presence) as a loving way to move me to rededicate my life to Him and Him alone. It was so powerful.” -- Derek

We receive these amazing testimonies weekly.

-- “Prone to Love shaped my heart to find forgiveness, grace, and love for people in my life whom I previously could not have fathomed finding love for again.” -- Kara

We pray grace and revelation. May you grow ever sure in our Fathers great affection for you and may you become the expression of His love on earth as it is in heaven!

God Bless

A Story & Our Vision

A Story - Several years ago I was in a meeting where I had the opportunity to share on the goodness of our heavenly Father. His sweet presence so filled the room while I spoke that many of us, myself included, couldn’t stand. His pleasure was so absolute, so sure!

Each of us had an encounter that night; it was transformative. And I was amazed and honored to be used by my Dad in such a beautiful way.

After the meeting, a friend who had attended pulled me aside and said, “Jason, I had a vision while you were sharing.”

Immediately I heard my heavenly Father whisper to my heart, “Pay attention.”

My friend began, “I saw you standing on a small platform at the curb edge of a very wide street. The platform was the size of a soapbox. You had a megaphone in your hand.

There were hundreds of thousands of people walking by. Then you began to speak through the megaphone. Hundreds turned at the sound and began to walk toward you. Then, by the thousands they walked past you.”

He paused, giving me room to ask, “Where were they going?”

“The Father was standing behind you.” He said

With tears in my eyes I smiled, “That is all I desire; to be a catalyst for encounter."

That memory still weighs powerful on my heart. And that God given vision has been the compass to define vision and set course for A Family Story.

Our Vision - We have one passion in all we do, reveal our Father and His great affection for you.

A Family Story is the soapbox, a platform upon which to present an invitation. The books, films, speaking and music are the megaphone that amplifies the invitation; an invitation to great encounter with our Heavenly Fathers always good love!

The vision of A Family Story is to create content catalytic for encounter; to disciple sons and daughters into perfect love that we might be transformed and live as expressions of perfect love on earth as it is in heaven.
